National Longitudinal Teacher Pedagogy Programme (NLTPP) Seminar

The National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), in partnership with the Teaching, Teachers and Teacher Education for Equitable and Quality Learning Consortium, will launch the National Longitudinal Teacher Pedagogy Programme (NLTPP) Seminar Series at the University of the Free State on 18 September 2026, from 09:00 to 13:00. The inaugural seminar, titled “Unpacking Teacher Pedagogy in South African Classrooms,” will provide a national platform for dialogue on how pedagogy is enacted across South Africa’s diverse classroom contexts and the conditions that support effective teaching and equitable learning.

The seminar will outline the study’s rationale, scope, design and complementary sub-studies, while sharing preliminary insights from current data collection. Researchers, policymakers, practitioners, teacher educators, professional associations and civil-society partners are invited to engage in focused discussions on teacher development, classroom practice and opportunities for collaboration.
