On 19 June 2026, the Limpopo Department of Education, in partnership with the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), convened a Provincial Engagement Roadshow on Learning Gaps to strengthen collective efforts towards improving learner outcomes.
The dialogue brought together education stakeholders, including officials, teacher unions, district representatives, school governing body associations, researchers, civil society organisations and teachers, to reflect on the factors contributing to learning gaps in Mathematics and English First Additional Language (FAL).
Discussions focused on insights from the NECT Rapid Appraisal Research Project, with stakeholders exploring practical, evidence-based and context-specific interventions to strengthen curriculum coverage, learner engagement and academic performance.
Through collaboration and shared learning, stakeholders continue to work towards building a stronger education system that supports improved teaching and learning outcomes.
